Introduction
I’ve now had my catsuit for over six months, and I’m really happy with it. Sometimes I wear it open (only at home) and other times under clothes (like sweatpants and a loose hoodie), and I even enjoy wearing it when I go for walks or shopping. However, I’ve noticed two things: the zipper on the back isn’t ideal for sitting (at least, I think so), because the area between the zipper on the back and the one in the crotch gets noticeably stretched. I assume this isn’t great for the long-term durability of the suit. The other thing is that clothes rubbing against the latex will likely damage the surface over time. The silicone oil doesn’t last long before it’s absorbed by the clothes.
What I want to have changed
So, I’ve decided to try two things: first, a shoulder zipper, and second, getting the suit chlorinated. Shoulder zippers aren’t very common, but they’re said to be very comfortable to wear, since there’s no zipper in the front or back. Chlorination creates a smoother surface, which should reduce friction when wearing clothes over it. It might also mean I won’t need a dressing aid at all, which would be nice. The big downside is repairability. I’ve read in several places that gluing on chlorinated latex is quite difficult, and the areas would need to be treated with sandpaper beforehand. However, at 0.4mm thickness, this should still be possible. For thinner latex, the internet claims repairs are impossible. Someone on Reddit also mentioned that the durability of seams is significantly reduced after chlorination. I really hope that’s not the case… but I expect that the shoulder entry will generally put less strain on the seams, which should increase the durability. Additionally, I’ve chosen a different color and the Prince Line Cut from Kink Projects, which I’m hoping will improve the fit in the crotch area. The upgrade only costs a few euros.
More stuff
Along with the catsuit, I’ve also ordered stockings, made-to-measure as well. Paired with the catsuit, this should ensure that my feet and legs are completely sealed and no sweat can escape. Especially on warmer days in the summer, I noticed that sweat can really start pouring out, particularly from my feet and hands. The stockings won’t be chlorinated, though, as the additional cost (which is higher than the price of the product itself) was just too much for me.
Now it’s time to wait again. I’m expecting around 4 months, which would be the end of January… I’m already super excited for the package to arrive!
